1st edition. ~ Cloth, dj, F/VG++. 140pp, very nioce copy in a slightly edge worn dustjacket that has 1 small tear at the base of the spine. War time paper not at all browned. ~ Kersh returns to the army for this short novel.

1st edition. ~ Cloth, dj, VG/G. vi+152pp, dustjacket spine very yellowed & lettering faded away, closed tear at the top of the upper panel, & foxed somewhat. Book itself a nice copy. ~ Fictional account of a wartime attrocity inspired by events at Lidice in the Czech Republic. There in 1942 192 men aged 16 & over were shot be the Germans as a reprisal for the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich. The rest of the villagers, women & children were sent to Concentration Camps.

First edition. A very good book with dust jacket. Book has light wear to the silver lettering on the spine, and a slight crease to the bottom corner of the title page, otherwise near fine.
